Students who complete their 12th year of education with necessary subjects have the opportunity to study for a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT). Most educational institutions admitting BPT students need applicants to graduate from Science stream 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and Biology (PCB) as mandatory subjects. Programs across different institutions demand a minimum amount of 50 to 60 percent aggregate from students. Colleges run entrance tests for university admission but some universities allow prospective students to enter without exams through their merit evaluation system. Students enrolled in BPT study for four-and-a-half years with six-month practical experience while acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge about physiotherapy alongside rehabilitation and movement sciences.
The completion of BPT degree enables graduates to secure employment opportunities among hospitals alongside rehabilitation centers and sports organizations and fitness clinics along with private practice. As medical professionals physiotherapists deliver essential patient recovery services for treatment of injuries and surgical procedures and neurological disease manifestations through exercise-based therapies and manual clinical approaches and electrotherapy methods. The rise in rehabilitation service request and heightened understanding of physical health has established physiotherapy as a reliable profession that leads to stable employment while allowing practitioners to specialize in fields such as orthopedics or neurology or sports medicine.
