Can I pursue BSc MLT after completing 12th grade in the science stream?

A BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is a three-year undergraduate program focused on diagnostic techniques, laboratory management, and medical testing procedures. To be eligible, students must have completed 12th grade in the science stream, usually with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). Some universities may also accept students with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), but PCB is preferred. Admission is based on merit or entrance exams, depending on the institution.

This course prepares students for careers in pathology labs, hospitals, diagnostic centers, and research institutions. Graduates can work as Medical Laboratory Technologists, Lab Managers, Research Assistants, or Quality Control Technicians. With further education, they can pursue a Master’s in MLT, Microbiology, or Biotechnology. The demand for skilled lab professionals is growing, making BSc MLT a promising career option in the healthcare sector.
