Normally, two years of studying at university result in the issuance of a B.Ed degree. This undergraduate education program is created for candidates intending to pursue their profession as school teachers. Under this program, during these two years of study, they will gain necessary knowledge and teaching skills from schools of varying levels- be it primary education or secondary level. It integrates both theoretical subjects with practical sessions of teaching along with field studies. That's why subjects of educational psychology, teaching methods, classroom management, curriculum development, and assessment techniques are covered in a B.Ed program.
Some B.Ed programs are also available for up to three years in India and other countries, though this depends on the university or learning institution. Moreover, some learning institutions offer integrated B.Ed programs where one combines an undergraduate with a teacher's qualification, which can take even longer to complete. However, for most students, the standard duration remains two years. After completing the B.Ed, the graduates can work as teachers in schools, education consultants, or administrators in the educational sector. They are also eligible for various government teaching exams according to the educational system of their region.
