The course of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is mostly a two-year undergraduate program and usually designed for professional teachers. There are four semesters divided among it, in which students learn their theoretical knowledge with proper teaching practice. Some universities have also been conducting one-year B.Ed. classes for the postgraduate candidates as well. The curriculum for the course will include areas like educational psychology, teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and classroom management, in addition to special training on topics of student's choice. The student acquires a Bachelor's degree together with teacher education. For example, a student may pursue B.A. B.Ed. or B.Sc. B.Ed. It permits students to attain both degrees side by side. Admission to the B.Ed. program is basically through a bachelor's degree in any stream with some percentage specified for admission by the respective universities. Those who complete the course can become either teachers, education consultants, counselors, or administrators within schools, colleges, and educational organizations.
