The above mentioned D.Voc in Production Technology course will be made up of Six Semester over three academic years. These aspects are taught each semester offering equal theoretical and practical training in production technology. The course is meant to prepare students to acquire professional competencies needed in the manufacturing and production organizations.
First Year (Semesters 1 and 2): These initial semesters include such simple courses as manufacturing and its fundamentals, material science, drafting, and essential machine tools. Students also start practical lessons in the workshop in order to familiarize themselves with machines and tools used in production.
Second Year (Semesters 3 and 4): This leads to a more focused curriculum which categorizes topics like; advanced manufacture processes, CAM, welding technology, quality assurance technologies. This is also the phase where the students go on internships or have practical in areas of their choice e.g. industries.
Third Year (Semesters 5 and 6): The last semesters are about the further Individual production processes, Planning of production and Automation. They also have to undertake a major project or an industry project based on analysis of actual problems.
