The qualifications for the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree are as follows:

1. Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree: The applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering, or a related field (e.g. Aerospace Engineering, etc.) from an accredited university.
A minimum average of 50% to 60% (or equivalent CGPA) in a Bachelor's degree is required, but this requirement may vary depending on the university.
2. Test Score:
National or State Examination: Admission is usually based on the scores obtained in national level entrance exams such as GATE (Graduate Engineering Aptitude Test). Many institutions will accept the results of regional exams or university entrance exams.
GATE is the most recognized exam for M.Tech admission in India and tests candidates in subjects related to undergraduate degrees, including subjects like Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and General Aptitude.
3. Age Limit:
Generally, there is no specific age limit for admission to M.Tech programs, but some institutions impose specific age limits for certain programs. You should check the specific criteria of the institution you are applying to.
4. Validity of Entrance Test Score:
GATE scores are usually valid for 3 years. Some colleges require scores from the last year of the test, while others will accept old scores, depending on the college policy.
5. Additional Requirements (if any)
Professional Experience: Although not mandatory, some companies prefer candidates with professional experience in engineering or a related field, especially for part-time or distance learning M.Tech programs.
Interviews: Some universities, especially for highly competitive programs, organize interviews or group discussions as part of the selection process.
