Is BSc IT different from BSc Computer Science?

Though BSc IT and BSc Computer Science share some elements, they are distinct disciplines. BSc IT concentrates on the administration, networking, and marketing aspects of technology. It covers IT infrastructure, database administration, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. The course is ideal for those who aspire to specialize in IT systems, software applications, system security, or for those interested in pursuing careers in IT administration, network security, or cloud computing.

Once again, BSc Computer Science with data structures, algorithms, artificial intelligence, and software engineering serves a more theoretical and programing-centric audience. The programming aspect of this course is suited for those interested in coding, software engineering, or in computing research. Some of the career paths for graduates include software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. Both degrees have solid foundations in IT, but unlike BSc Computer Science, which is heavily focused on coding, BSc IT is more on system and application which gives rise to different but complementary career opportunities.
