Is there an age limit for BSc?

Generally, there is no age bar for pursuing a BSc degree. Anyone who fulfills the academic requirements set by the respective educational institutions, such as completing higher secondary education (Class 12) with the necessary subject combinations, can apply for BSc programs. This therefore allows individuals of different ages, who have taken time off from studies or had alternative careers, to pursue this degree. Most universities focus more on the eligibility of the candidate in relation to academic qualifications than on age.

However, some institutions or programs may have age-based guidelines, especially if there are entrance exams or age-based quotas. Although few do, some will have an upper age limit placed on entry which is often based on more aggressive or professional study courses where, due to profession timelines, there is an expectation of entry early. Some aggressive competitive exams specify age ranges whereby students would end their course in sufficient time before proceeding into employment, for instance. In general, a BSc is one of the most versatile higher education programs a student can do, catering for a broad-based student intake.
