Is there any entrance exam required for admission?

Yes, almost all the  aerospace engineering programs to pursue aerospace engineering necessitate clearing certain entrance tests for admission. There are several types of entrance exams; they may also depend on the country impression, the institution and the level of the program.

Undergraduate (B.Tech/B.E.):

JEE Main and JEE Advanced: Needed for entrance examination into the IITs, NITs and IIITs and other prestigious universities. JEE Advanced is for admission to IIT only.

State-Level Entrance Exams: Examples: MH CET (Maharashtra), WBJEE (West Bengal), KCET (Karnataka).

Private University Exams: Examples: VITEEE – VIT University Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University Joint Engineering Entrance Examination.

Postgraduate (M.Tech/M.E.):

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering): Compulsory to get admission in postgraduate courses in IIT, NIT and other affiliated institutions.

Diploma Programs: This depends on the 10th-grade standard or the state level diploma, entrance test.

In the United States:

Undergraduate: SAT or ACT: Needed to get into most universities that offer Aerospace engineering.

Graduate (Master’s and Ph.D.):

GRE (Graduate Record Examination): Often used for admission to a Master’s or doctoral program in most universities. In Europe: Most universities use high school results as the basis for admission. Some may conduct English proficiency tests such as IELTS, or TOEFL etc.
