Is this course suitable for someone without a science background?

This course is mostly designed for students who have a good base of knowledge in science and mathematics, especially in PCM at the higher secondary level. Aerospace engineering deals with complex topics, such as aerodynamics, propulsion systems, fluid mechanics, and structural analysis, so there has to be a base understanding of scientific principles. Almost every university and colleges offering this programme require candidates who have studied the PCM in the 12th grade or comparable. Without having this background knowledge, a student may not really understand the heart of the core technical subjects that are used by the mathematical application in the syllabus.

But for a student with no science background, if interested in aerospace engineering, they have to take more preparatory courses in mathematics and physics to be able to start with the course. Some institutions offer foundation programs or bridge courses to help students from non-science backgrounds make a transition to technical fields. Alternatively, students can opt for diploma programs in aviation, aerospace technology, or mechanical engineering, which may offer easier entry into the field before pursuing a B.Tech. It is advisable to check the specific eligibility criteria of the university before applying.
