The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSc IT) course demands that the candidates have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board. The candidates must have studied Mathematics, Computer Science, or any other related subject during their higher secondary studies. The majority of universities and colleges demand a minimum aggregate of 45-50% in the qualifying exam. Top colleges might have more cut-offs, entrance exams, or merit-based admission.
A few universities also carry out entrance exams, but other universities consider admission on the basis of their performance in the 12th class. SC/ST/OBC candidates might be given relaxation in minimum percentage as per government policy. Other students from diploma or vocational streams with relevant qualifications could also get admission through lateral entry into the second year of the program in a few colleges. International students will be required to meet the same academic standards and possibly demonstrate English proficiency. It is best to review particular university policy, as each institution may have different requirements.
