What is the B.Com syllabus?

The Bachelor of Commerce, or B.Com, curriculum usually gives a student a very good idea of how business, finance, economics, accounting, and management are interrelated. The first year of the program is usually spent studying foundational courses such as Financial Accounting, Business Economics, Business Mathematics, and Introduction to Business Law. Also included in the subjects are Management Principles, Cost Accounting, and Computer Applications in Business. These introductory courses aim to prepare students with all the necessary skills for understanding the way business functions and financial principles.

Specialized areas of study, such as Corporate Accounting, Business Taxation, Auditing, and Financial Management, are delved into in the second and third years. Marketing, Human Resource Management, and International Business are a few elective subjects for study. Universities usually offer elective subject possibilities when specializing in subjects such as Banking or Insurance or, less frequently, entrepreneurship. Apart from academic learning, there are opportunities for developing analytical, communication, and decision-making skills in the students, making them ready for finance, accounting, and business management. Substantial practical exposure is also given through internships and projects as a part of the curricula.
