What is the difference between ITI Draughtsman (Civil) and ITI Fitter?

ITI Draughtsman (Civil) is a professional diploma course in which the trainees learn to draw technical drawings and designs for civil engineering projects such as buildings, bridges, and infrastructure. The basics of drawing with AutoCAD, reading blueprints, constructing materials, and the work practices are taught. In this occupational discipline, the person typically spends most of his time in the office, discussing about correct project planning and implementation with engineers and architects, and should be very precise, creative, and understood in the civil engineering principles. On the other hand, ITI Fitter is a trade-based course that trains individuals in assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and machinery.

Fitters work with tools, equipment, and metal components to ensure the proper functioning of machines in industries like manufacturing, automotive, and construction. This role is more hands-on and workshop-oriented, requiring physical dexterity, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of mechanical systems. While Draughtsman (Civil) is design-oriented, Fitter's training involves more practical application and maintenance of mechanical mechanisms. Both the trades serve well in their sectors but lead to different skill sets and careers.
