Students in the B.Voc degree program of Medical Imaging Technology learn practical and theoretical knowledge for radiology and diagnostic imaging as part of their three-year undergraduate study. The six semesters of the program explore X-ray and CT scan and MRI and ultrasound and nuclear medicine imaging techniques one by one. Training and real-world industry experience are included in the curriculum to produce graduates suitable for hospital and diagnostic center positions as well as healthcare institutions. Students enrolled in the program can exit with different levels of qualifications: Diploma is granted at the first year culmination while Advanced Diploma comes after second year completion followed by a B.Voc Degree at third year graduation.
Students who graduate from this program can become radiology technologists while MRI/CT scan specialists represent another possibility along with choosing to study medical imaging at higher levels. Medical imaging stands as an attractive profession because healthcare needs continue to grow for skilled imaging professionals.
