What is the eligibility Criteria for M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering?

Generally, the eligibility criteria for M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering are as follows:

1. Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree: Candidates must have B.Tech, B.E. Or equivalent from a recognized university in Mechanical Engineering or related field (such as Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, etc.).

Although this minimum varies from university to university, a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 50% to 60% (or CGPA).

2. Entrance Exam: Admission is usually based on the marks obtained in national entrance exams including GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). Many schools consider scores from regional exams, rather than their own college entrance exams.

For their undergraduate qualifications, which include subjects ranging from Engineering and Mechanical Engineering to General Aptitude, GATE is the most widely accepted exam in India for M.Tech admission; a qualifying exam.

3. Age Limit: Generally, there is no age limit for M.Tech admission, but some schools may impose restrictions on certain courses. It is always advisable to check the qualifications of the college you are applying to.
