A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology BSc IT is meant to equip students with practical knowledge of an IT field and computing. These students learn core subjects which often include programming languages like C, C++, Java, and Python, Data Structures, Algorithms, Database Management Systems (SQL and NoSQL), and Basics of Networking. It also includes Operating Systems, Web Programming HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Other subjects include Software Engineering, System Analysis and Design, and IT Project Management for improving one's problem-solving capabilities.
The program also makes use of project works, internships, and industry-based attachments as a way of providing practical training. Students may also learn specialized subjects like Ethical Hacking, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and Mobile App Development. Discrete Math and Statistics are also taught to assist in computing-related problem-solving. Graduates will have knowledge and skills relating to Software Engineering, IT Administration, Cyber Security, and Data Analysis after completing the course.
