What subjects are taught in B.Pharmacy?

The B. Pharmacy program embraces every subject that falls under the pharmaceutical sciences. These include core study areas such as Pharmaceutical Chemistry, which is the drug chemistry and synthesis. Pharmacology is the science of drugs and their impacts on the human body. Pharmaceutics has to do with the formulation and design of drugs, and Pharmacognosy involves natural drugs from plants, animals, and minerals.

Other important subjects include biochemistry and physiology, where the foundational knowledge about the biological systems in the human body is provided to understand drug actions. Microbiology covers information so that infections and pathogens are understood by the student. So, it also provides pharmaceutical jurisprudence about the legal aspects of the pharmacy industry and drug design to learn the methods of how new medicines can be made. Other electives could include clinical pharmacy, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical management. B.Pharmacy is an overall comprehensive understanding of drug development, manufacturing, and regulation that prepares students for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, research, and healthcare.
